Since the 1990s, the term security has been diversified and elaborated with new meanings and principles. From focus on “traditional security” such as state borders, military power or governments, the term security is also regarding, for example, climate, energy and transports. As a result of new ideas and debates, the term human security came to be used.
In its basics, the idea of human security is about protecting every human being from fear (wars, harassment), from poverty (income, education) and lack of indignity (right to a fair trial, the rule of law). Human security is also about recognizing and understanding that different types of security are interconnected glocally.
